Is our God their god?

With all that is going on in the world many today wonder if the God of Christianity is the same god of the Jews, the Muslims or any other religion. I don’t think so.

There may have been a time when this was true but their “religion” has turned them away from the true God and into the arms of another god, the god of this world.

What Jesus says:

John 8:42 “Jesus told them, "If God were your Father, you would love me”

John 8:47 “Anyone whose Father is God listens gladly to the words of God. Since you don't, it proves you aren't God's children."

John 15:21-23 “The people of the world will hate you because you belong to me, for they don't know God who sent me. They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them. But now they have no excuse for their sin. Anyone who hates me hates my Father, too.”

John 16:1-4 “I have told you these things so that you won't fall away. “For you will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing God a service. This is because they have never known the Father or me. Yes, I'm telling you these things now, so that when they happen, you will remember I warned you. I didn't tell you earlier because I was going to be with you for a while longer.”

I think that scripture makes it very clear – If there is no Jesus in you god your god is NOT the Great I AM God of all creation.

Jesus was with God from the very beginning. We see Him all through Scripture.

Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, "Let us make people in our image, to be like ourselves.”

John 1:1-4 “In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and he was God. He was in the beginning with God. He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn't make. Life itself was in him, and this life gives light to everyone. And John 1:14 “So the Word became human and lived here on earth among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father.”

If you believe in the Trinity, if you believe in Jesus Christ as God’s Son (John 3:16, et al), if you believe that the wages of sin is death and that God’s only Son was the only pure and spotless lamb qualified to make the payment for our sin, if you believe that the Bible is God’s True and Holy Word and if you truly have placed your faith and trust in the Grace of God through Faith alone in Jesus alone then their god IS NOT your God.

Which God do you serve? The God of works, of human vengance or the God of eternal Love and Grace – “Jehova-Yahweh” – I AM! To me HE IS ADONAI – My Lord.
