I sat down at my desk this evening to write this article and developed a major case of writers block! I had a topic in mind but everything that went down seemed bad. I asked myself a simple question. “What is the most important message I could share with the good people of Starr County?” The answer was very simple, “GOD LOVES YOU”.

Three simple words, have a very eternal meaning for you. These words should bring you hope and joy. You can know that the Mighty God of all creation cares deeply for you, specifically and individually.

In the Bible God shares His love for you with you. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. (John 3:16-17 NLT)

God’s love is not based on your past history. God’s love is not dependant on your good deeds, financial status or position in the community. God’s love is based on His Everlasting Love for us, not on our ability to do anything. The very character of God is love.

I John 4:9-10 teaches us this, “God showed how much He loved us by sending His only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” (NLT)

GOD LOVES YOU! For who you are and for what He desires for you to be. In His love you can find forgiveness, peace and hope. God’s will for your life is for you to love Him as He loves you, totally.

I remember a time in my life when I could not find any love or compassion in my life. I looked in many places and found a lot of different temporary fixes that brought short term relief, but no hope and joy. The problem was not that God did not love me; the trouble was that I did not even know who God was, much less love Him.

There was a great hole in my life that nothing I tried in this world could fill. There was a deep desire for me to close this gap in my life but, no matter how hard I looked, this wound could not be healed.

God changed my life, through His love. It did not matter that I had done some very intense things or that I had not done anything for Him. All that mattered was that HE LOVED ME! And He had a great gift for me; restoration, eternal life, joy, peace and hope.

God has these same blessings waiting for you and He desperately wants you to have them, right now.

How can you receive these free gifts? By faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone who believes in Him will not be disappointed." (Romans 10:9-11- NLT)

Did you see what is here in the Bible? GOD LOVES YOU! His love for us, each and every one of us, provides us with new life, new joy and an everlasting peace.
