A Family Tradition

1. A Tradition of Family
1. Traveling together

i. Family vacation

ii. Family holidays

2. Going to church together
3. Spending time together

i. Family table

2. A Tradition of Friends
1. Have good friends
2. Travel with friends
3. Have Christian Friends

i. This entire group had made this long journey for Passover

4. Spend time together

i. Football games

ii. BBQ

3. A Tradition of Faith
1. Jesus was circumcised and dedicated in the Temple
2. The Faith life of Mary and Joseph was primary in their life

i. Their vacation was planned around it

ii. They did not allow time, distance or discomfort to keep them from being faithful

iii. Jesus knew that His parents loved the Lord

3. Jesus was always faithful to His earthly parents and His Heavenly Father
4. Does your family know that your faith is real and vibrant?
5. Do they know that you place God above everything else?

i. Do you make sure they read the Word and pray?

ii. Do you set the example for being in God’s House whenever the doors are open?

iii. Do you children see you loving God and loving others?

We need to develop some new family traditions

Traditions that are not easily broken

Traditions that have meaning and purpose

Traditions that honor God
