THANKSGIVING
1 Thessalonians 5:18 - “No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (NLT)
Thankful – “eucharisteo (yoo-khar-is-teh'-o);” to be grateful, i.e. (actively) to express gratitude (towards); specially, to say grace at a meal:
What are you thankful for? I am thankful for everything God has given me.
True thanksgiving requires:
q True faith in Jesus Christ
q A Just view of the Sovereignty of God
q A grateful heart
q The anticipation of answered prayers
q A trust in the Love of God
Thanksgiving - The aspect of praise that gives thanks to God for what He does for us.
Ephesians 5:20 – “And you will always give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, all the while giving thanks through him to God the Father.”
Romans 7:25 “Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God's law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.”
1 Thessalonians 1:2 “We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly.”
