GOSPEL OF PEACE
This is the fourth lesson in our study of the Armour of God in Ephesians Chapter 6 Verses 10 – 18.
Ephesians 6:15 “and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (NKJ)
Gospel - euaggelion (yoo-ang-ghel'-ee-on); a good message, i.e. the gospel:
euaggelizo (yoo-ang-ghel-id'-zo); to announce good news
("evangelize") especially the gospel:
Peace - eirene (i-ray'-nay); probably from a primary verb eiro (to join);
peace (literally or figuratively); by implication, prosperity:
GOSPEL - The joyous good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. The Greek word translated as gospel means "a reward for bringing good news" or simply "good news." In <Isaiah 40:9>, the prophet proclaimed the "good tidings" that God would rescue His people from captivity. In His first sermon in Nazareth, Jesus used a passage from the Old Testament to characterize the spirit of His ministry: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor" <Luke 4:18>.

It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ that prepares us to walk into the good works that God has prepared for us. Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”(NKJ).
A soldier’s footwear is of critical importance during battle. You do not want to be caught in a war zone with high heels, flats or deck shoes when you need combat boots. The preparation of the Gospel of Peace that we must “bind to our feet” is our “combat boots”. The Gospel provides us the proper footing, a strong base and keeps us from slipping into the muck and mire of sin.
The main issue here is to put on a close relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is His Gospel that saves us and He is the King of Peace.
We are to march forward, proclaiming the peace of Jesus Christ as we go.
